It's a chill place most of the time. They also host military events like the "Jar Crawl" been coming for years. Staff is friendly

I always judge a bar on the cleanliness of their bathroom. Joe's Bar has one of the cleanest bars in downtown Chico. It is always stocked with the essentials. The owner is super nice. The bartenders are great at what they do. I will definitely be returning.

Joe's used to be the only bar I went to. Good place to grab drinks. Lately it's been pretty packed when I go, usually filled with the true country folk. If you get there early enough you can get a table on busy nights. Takes a couple minutes to get to the bathroom when its busy.
